Be the Change Coaching is a network of independent coaches and consultants with extensive training and expertise. Our coaches may specialize in one or two areas of concern while others are generalists. Selecting the right coach is highly dependent on whether or not you are willing to be coached by that person. You might feel more comfortable with someone you can identify with, for instance. For coaching to achieve the desired result, both the coach and the client must be comfortable with each other.
Each coach lists their general education and experience as well as their general outlook and coaching style.
I am a stand for a non-violent world in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. A world in which each person is empowered, supported and encouraged to pursue and achieve their dreams. I believe in the interconnectedness of all existence. In the language of my youth, "What goes around, comes around." Some call it karma, some call it the human law of averages. Christians might say, "You reap what you sow." I suggest that we don't really have to wait long to find the results of our actions.
Therefore, if our actions can produce rapid and long-term results, it would be to our benefit to shift our personal philosophies such that our actions are producing the results we want. That is, we take actions that fulfill on our dreams.
I find a great deal of humor in my own humanity. That is, I laugh at myself often for the unintentional detours I take in my life. I have no externally-applied moral position on human beings. Within the bounds of everyone's well being, I can coach for the fulfillment of any dream. A sense of humor is not required, but it will certainly help. I am an activist for LGBTQ and Polyamory rights.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree, conferred by Regents College, The University of the State of New York, in interdisciplinary studies.
My two areas of emphasis are psychology and physics. Fields related, to me by in desire to know how the universe works.
I am a trained educator, coach and facilitator with extensive experience in:
I am a humanist. I believe in the welfare of human beings and each individual’s dignity and self-worth. I have committed myself to creating workability in all situations regardless of the circumstances. I am a stand for people creating a life of their own design both personally, professionally or in any area of their life that matters to them.
Easier said than done to be sure, and at the same time readily available for all. How do I do this you may ask? There are all types of paths to get there, but nothing comes without taking action. Action… the area that humans most often get stuck in and where the biggest breakthroughs and results reside. When humans go from thought into action anything is achievable and has a direct impact on ourselves, communities and the world. Everything starts with one person… you are that person. If you accept this premise, then I invite you to “Be the Change” you want to be!
Now that you know where I stand, a little more about me. Like my colleagues, I find a great deal of humor and humility in my own mistakes and in the shortcomings of the world around me. Trust me I have made enough of them in my life and yet I am still here laughing daily. I support various organizations in my respective communities, most notable Padres Pedal the Cause (Cancer Research). I am also an LBGTQ ally. I am supported on this journey by my wife Julie for 31 years and my three adult children Allyson, Marci and JP.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. I have also completed course work at Southern Utah University and Utah University in Sociology and History (6 credits short of degrees in both!)
I have been in the Human Resources profession for the last 20 years with progressive career growth where I served most recently as Director of Human Resources for a bi-national manufacturing organization. I am currently running my own business as an HR consultant. My expertise includes, but is not limited to, organizational management, career development, executive coaching, and team building. I am able to design trainings and seminars to meet individual, team, and or organization’s needs.
I am committed to a world of powerful human beings who are in partnership with other powerful human beings, engaging in win-win interactions. Interactions which not only fulfill our own goals but which also create wins for our families and communities and inspire others to step into their greatness. I have found that commitment and partnership make possible lives of extraordinary richness, far beyond what is available to autonomous individuals.
We are vastly richer than our ancestors, not because we work harder but because we share the accumulation of centuries of knowledge generated by human creativity. Human beings are the only known source of creativity in the Universe and we know of no limits to our creativity. Unlike medieval guilds which tried to keep their ideas secret, as modern people we eagerly share and combine ideas, generating more good ideas which benefit everyone involved.
If I work with you, I will regularly interview you to draw out your highest aspirations and support you in creating pathways to fulfill those aspirations in partnership with others.
I became passionate about life-long learning long before I got to university. At the University of California I participated in graduate programs in cognitive science and computer science as well as undergraduate honors programs in mathematics, physics, linguistics and more. While all of that was a good foundation it has long since been dwarfed by ongoing learning driven by the continual emergence of new ideas and new understandings in the context of real-world projects.
I have over 30 years experience as a consultant in
