Be the change you wish to see in the world.
Mohandas K. Gandhi, often called Mahatma meaning a person to be revered for high-mindedness, wisdom, and selflessness, is well known, in part, for his great sayings.
This is among his spoken gems and is the source for the name of my coaching practice and of inspiration for my life.
I am a stand for a non-violent world in which all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. A world in which each person is empowered, supported and encouraged to pursue and achieve their dreams.
I believe in the interconnectedness of all existence. In the language of my youth, "What goes around, comes around." Some call it karma, some call it the human law of averages. Christians might say, "You reap what you sow." I suggest that we don't really have to wait long to find the results of our actions.
Whether we interact or not with our neighbors,
our lives, represented as rapids in the river of life, alters
the the lives around us. Our circumstances
gives rise to the circumstances of others.
What we create with our actions have influence
throughout the course of the living river.
Having our dreams come true is a direct result of
taking full responsibility for what we create in
the world.
We can decide how we influence the lives of countless
others by creating our lives such that we are fulfilled
and inspired every day. When we are inspired and inspiring those
around us, we create the milieu for adventure and excitement.
We can be be at the mercy of river stones, pounding ineffectively
at their faces, or a beautiful, self directed torrent of activity.
